Colour in 2021 Covid lockdown has been a way for me to fall in love with the world as it is, not as it was. Observing particular colours, seeking particular colours to create montages of vivid reality lifted me. The collective experience of pulling apart and coming together is somehow echoed in the images, as well as my joy in the forgotten marvel of the light falling on objects that shapes colour itself.
In the time I have to walk, I find my vision shifting. My local beach, the multicolour pavilion, my endless gratitude to places, people, and every still and moving part, the opaque and transparent present in every step that never fails to show more, and give more. Wandering, watching the light play out, I photograph with care, allowing honesty, awe and naivety I feel to be present.
