Mia Mala McDonald is currently working on a book of portraits and stories from Australia: A Portrait of Australian Rainbow Families.
This project speaks both to her identification with these families and to the overwhelming absence of such images in mainstream media. It's as much about what it means to be an Australian as it is about sexuality. It is an archive and a documentation of our rapidly changing community and the lives of people who offer brave new visions of what it means to be family in Australia today.
This book will be published by M.33 publishers later this year.
